Thanks to Tosa SERBIAN, and his MPEG2 Works software, I can convert my VRO files trivially.
What is really amazing is that he created some special functionality just for me. It turns out that his VR_MOVIE.VRO file conversion wasn’t quite right for the format that Hitachi uses. It was possible to convert using his tools, but it took a few steps and was a bit manual. With the new converter, I just plug in my VRO file and click “Convert.” That’s all there is to it.
These tools can do practically everything with practically every kind of file. They require that you buy Apple’s QuickTime Pro ($20) and their MPEG-2 Playback Component ($10), and then you need to buy his tool (another $10). In the end, you’ve got all the conversions you could ever want for a measly $40. I think it’s a fantastic deal. I couldn’t be happier.
